Are you a proud New Yorker looking for ways to give back to homeless and formerly homeless adults, families, LGBTQ young adults and veterans this holiday season?
Jericho Project is a 34-year old, nationally-acclaimed nonprofit organization that enables homeless New Yorkers to attain housing, employment, and mental and physical health services. This year we invite you to join us at our 2nd Annual Day of Action to raise awareness about the critical issue of homeless facing NYC and spread some holiday cheer to fellow New Yorkers who may be alone and need support during the holiday season.
WHO: Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds! Come alone or with your family, friends or colleagues for a fun day of holiday giving back!
WHAT: Decorate our supportive housing residences to spread some holiday cheer, assemble gift/food/hygiene care packages, and distribute to our Jericho tenants at a festive lunch! (Lunch will be provided by Jericho Project)
WHERE: Jericho Project owns seven supportive housing residences for homeless New Yorkers: six in the Bronx and one in Harlem. We will place you (and our team) at a residence volunteer project depending on the size of your party.
WHEN: Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10:30am to 3:30pm.
*Have to work that day? Get your whole office involved in a corporate volunteer project and kick off the holiday season together, building employee morale!
WHY: Thanks to Jericho Project’s supportive services and resources and our many community and corporate partners, our clients finally have their own safe, quality apartments after living in shelters, halfway houses, and on the streets and subways for years. We call upon our fellow New Yorkers to support and advocate for them and others who desperately want off the street and an opportunity to rebuild their lives and families.
